Bloom | Pelagic Lattice

Pelagic Lattice imagines the sea as an architect rather than a force of destruction. Through slow, imagined marine growth, each sculpture explores how organic structures emerge, envelop and ultimately redefine the objects they encounter. These works celebrate the quiet persistence of natural processes, revealing forms that feel simultaneously ancient, living and entirely new.

Bloom marks the beginning of the Pelagic Lattice series. Inspired by the branching geometry of coral and microscopic marine organisms, the sculpture explores the moment where growth becomes structure. Rather than depicting a reclaimed object, it imagines an entirely new form emerging through the patient accumulation of time.
The open lattice invites light to pass through the sculpture, creating shifting patterns of shadow that become part of the work itself. As with the sea, the piece is defined as much by absence as by presence, balancing strength with fragility while suggesting a living architecture that continues to evolve.

Handmade in stoneware and finished with layered glazes, each vessel is individually crafted and cannot be replicated exactly. Variations in surface, texture, and glaze are integral to the making process and celebrate the unique character of each piece.
